Nick Cannon slams claims he pays just $3million a year in child support for his 11 kids

Nick Cannon has hit back at claims he forks out $3million a year in child support and said the real figure is much higher.

The 41-year-old talk show host is currently awaiting the birth of his 12th child, after becoming a dad-of-11 just last week. Abby De La Rose, who Nick already shares twin sons with, gave birth to daughter Beautiful on Friday.

Alyssa Scott is pregnant with the comedian’s upcoming arrival. The duo welcomed baby Zen in 2021, but their 5-month-old son tragically died that December after a battle with brain cancer.

Nick is now trying to set the record straight about how much he provides for his family, after legal expert Goldie Schon estimated it to be around $3million.

“I definitely spend a lot more than that on my children annually.

“I don’t plan to ever have to participate in the governmental system of child,” he said in an interview with the Neighbourhood Talk.

Goldie, a California practicing family law attorney, said Nick is “an extremely high-income earner”, which means he would pay a massive amount of money in child support.

“Dad is clearly a public figure and makes a substantial income. The lifestyle has to be the same with mom as it is with dad,” she told The Sun.

Nick first became a dad back in April 2011, when he and his then-wife Mariah Carey welcome twins Moroccan and Monroe.

After their split, the TV personality welcomed three children each with Brittany Bell and Abby De La Rosa.

Brittany gave birth to son Golden in February 2017 and daughter Powerful in December 2020, followed by son Rise this September.

Abby gave birth to the pair’s twins sons Zion and Zillion in June 2021.

Nick is also the father of son Legendary, 4 months, with Bre Tiesi, as well as daughter Onyx, 2 months, with Lanisha Cole.

The former Nickelodeon star has spoken out about how he doesn’t believe in monogamy.

“It all starts with honesty,” he said. “It’s really just surface, basic stuff. One of my therapists coined what I do as consensual non-monogamy.

“Because to even pretend like I’m in a monogamous relationship, that would be misleading.

“Because, as we know, monogamy defines one thing — and people like to classify what I do as polyamory or polygamy, but even that, I always say to define me is to confine me,” he added.
