It\u2019s messy, raw, and honest. Thankfully, now he says he\u2019s rebuilding, one day at a time.<a href=\"https:\/\/thetab.com\/realityshrine\/author\/helen-williams\/\"><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Chase recalls \u2018dark time\u2019 filming Chrisley Knows Best<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On Savannah\u2019s Unlocked podcast, Chase described a previous stretch of his life as a \u201creally, really dark time,\u201d and his sister didn\u2019t sugarcoat what she saw.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">She said he had gotten so thin his clothes were falling off, adding how it was \u201cheartbreaking\u201d to watch.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">What hit hardest was how Chase ties it to filming and the pressure-cooker energy around the family at the time. When life felt like too much, he says his coping mechanism was to drink, whereas Savannah\u2019s was basically to shut off emotionally and mentally.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Chase shared that his mind got to a terrifying place where he was preparing for the phone call telling their parents that he\u2019d died.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And if you\u2019ve ever watched Chrisley Knows Best, you know the show is all punchlines, big personalities, and perfectly-timed chaos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Hearing what was happening underneath that smile is sobering in itself, because the camera can\u2019t always catch what\u2019s really going on.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>In the midst of addiction, Chase said he was selfish<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"684\" height=\"606\" src=\"https:\/\/funnyvideo.us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/image-195.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-308\" srcset=\"https:\/\/funnyvideo.us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/image-195.png 684w, https:\/\/funnyvideo.us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/image-195-300x266.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 684px) 100vw, 684px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Chase didn\u2019t try to paint himself as a saint during that period. He admitted that while he has a \u201cgood heart,\u201d substances made him act like a different person, and he was \u201cvery selfish\u201d in the thick of it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Savannah also talked about the ripple effect. She spoke of how people tend to focus sympathy on the person struggling, but don\u2019t always talk about the family members who live through the chaos and fear.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Chase also described his pattern with alcohol as less \u201ccraving\u201d and more \u201cno off switch.\u201d Once he started, he didn\u2019t stop.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>He went through a lot of therapy<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"792\" height=\"602\" src=\"https:\/\/funnyvideo.us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/image-196.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-309\" srcset=\"https:\/\/funnyvideo.us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/image-196.png 792w, https:\/\/funnyvideo.us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/image-196-300x228.png 300w, https:\/\/funnyvideo.us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/image-196-768x584.png 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 792px) 100vw, 792px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">One of the most human moments? Chase describing what happened when he finally slowed down enough to face it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He said that after going away and sitting through \u201ca lot of therapy,\u201d he broke down sobbing, grieving what he\u2019d done and how far he\u2019d drifted from who he actually is.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He also framed it as a brutal but important wake-up call he\u2019s grateful happened in his 20s, not decades later, because, in his words, if he\u2019d kept going, he would\u2019ve been dead.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Chase said he went to rehab at the end of July 2025, and as of early January 2026, he described himself as \u201cright at\u201d nearly six months sober.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He now hits the gym with his dad, Todd Chrisley, and seems to be on an upward trajectory since both his parents were released from prison.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>He says he\u2019s got a long way to go, and changed his circle<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"674\" height=\"599\" src=\"https:\/\/funnyvideo.us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/image-197.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-310\" srcset=\"https:\/\/funnyvideo.us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/image-197.png 674w, https:\/\/funnyvideo.us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/image-197-300x267.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 674px) 100vw, 674px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The vibe now? Less nightlife, more home-life. Chase said he\u2019s trying to remove the \u201csame people\u201d and patterns that helped keep him stuck, and he\u2019s leaning into family time, routine, and staying busy with healthier supports.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He was clear he\u2019s not pretending everything\u2019s magically fixed. He\u2019s still rebuilding.
